All Joyrider full-day packages start at Wai‑O‑Tapu Thermal Wonderland — one of the most iconic geothermal landscapes in Aotearoa — timed to avoid the crowds and experience it properly.
From there, you choose the direction of the day. Each option is flexible, unhurried, and shaped around your group’s energy, the weather, and what’s working best locally.
These are the routes we grew up with — mixing must-see places with local gems from our home.

After Wai-O-Tapu, we head home to Rotorua for a fun day that shows the region beyond the obvious stops.

A scenic Lakes Circuit through Rotorua’s lakes and surrounds (optional Buried Village stop)
Redwoods Forest walk or viewpoints

After Wai-O-Tapu, we travel south toward Taupō for a relaxed, scenic day that blends iconic stops with local favourites — with plenty of time to enjoy each place.

Aratiatia Dam release (timed where possible)
Huka Falls viewpoints
Options - Lake Taupō scenic cruise/ Huka Jet experience
